UPDATE: Thank you for visiting. The Marzen Law Office, P.L.L.C., has closed due to Jesse M. Marzen’s retirement from the practice of law. We thank all of our good clients and friends for all of the support and good memories over the years!
How We Help You
Dissolution of Marriage – Dissolution of Marriage (sometimes referred to as ‘divorce’) is a hard thing to go through. It is made all the worse when your STBX (soon to be ex-) is unreasonable, selfish, aggressive, hostile, belligerent, or all of the above. Most people go into a Dissolution hoping it will an amicable process. When it’s not, though, creative and aggressive representation is needed to protect your interests.
Paternity & Custody Actions – Unmarried parents fact the same custody, placement, visitation, and support issues that divorcing parents do. They also face unique struggles as well. Contested matters involving unmarried parents are cases we handle day in and day out because of the dedication we have in making sure our client’s rights are asserted and protected.
Visitation – Parenting time is vitally important to a child’s life and development. When the visiting parent is in a healthy and safe place in their life, they have the right to liberal and generous visitation with their children, and deserve to spend lots of time with their kids. When they are not in a healthy and safe place, though, because of substance abuse, violence, other any other reason, parents with primary placement need to protect their children. We help parents find the safest and healthiest visitation schedules they can.
Modification – One thing almost everyone can agree on: things change. When things change substantially, though, sometimes Decrees and Orders issued years ago are no longer workable or reasonable. Decrees and Orders can be changed when there is a substantial change in a parent’s situation and changing the Decree or Order would be in the best interests of the child. We help parents have those old Decrees and/or Order modified to fit with real life as it exists for them now.
Contempt of Court – When your ex- refuses to do what the Court has Ordered, they need to be held accountable for their willful failure. We help divorced individuals bring Contempt actions to enforce the Court’s Order or Decree, and hold the ex- accountable.
Adoption – Few actions are more enjoyable and satisfying than adoption. To bring a child into a family through adoption is an amazing, truly amazing, parental act, and we happily and enthusiastically aid parents in their pursuit of adoptions.
Guardian ad Litem Service – Guardian ad Litem’s represent the best interest of the children. There are times where, when parties are divorcing, one or both of the parties will request a Guardian ad Litem to represent those interests. Often this happens in high-conflict situations. We serve as Guardian ad Litem in those divorce and custody situations so the parties can ensure that the children’s voice is heard and there is someone making sure their best interests are represented.
